Ushuaia, la ciudad m\u00e1s austral del mundo, se origin\u00f3 con una c\u00e1rcel que existi\u00f3 hasta 1947. En 1883 se construy\u00f3 la Colonia Penal al Sur de la Rep\u00fablica Argentina (luego C\u00e1rcel de Reincidentes de Tierra del Fuego), y un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s se fund\u00f3 la ciudad.
