We are pleased to announce that our book<\/span>, Lumiton, the Label that Shaped Argentinian Cinema<\/span><\/i>, is now available in PDF for download or online reading in both Spanish and English.<\/span> <\/p>\n

A year ago, on the occasion of its 90th anniversary, the book was presented, which traces the history of Lumiton, the first Argentine sound film studios, from its creation in 1932 until its closure in the 1960s.<\/span><\/p>\n

This document completes seven years of work carried out by the Lumiton Project, valuing the city of Vicente L\u00f3pez as a City of Cinema and the Munro neighborhood as an Audiovisual Pole, thus recovering its history and identity, which dates back to the 1930s when Los Locos de la Azotea arrived with dreams of expanding horizons by establishing the country’s first modern film studios in Munro.<\/span><\/p>\n

This book offers an overview of the golden years of national cinema. Organized into three chapters covering the decades of the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s<\/span> it focuses on the narrative and audiovisual analysis of its films, its aesthetic style, its actors and actresses, and the signature of its directors. Additionally, the texts are accompanied by lobby cards and photographs of the films, technicians on the sets, and film stars. Thus, an important part of the Museum’s Photographic Archive is made available to the public, as well as the collection of restored film posters along with their technical sheets and an illustrative timeline of the production company’s active years with its most important milestones.<\/span><\/p>\n
