Vecine VeCine is a film series program that aims to watching movies back on the big screen.
Through seminars, screenings and workshops, leading figures of the audiovisual media share their knowledge and careers, bringing new perspectives and ways of producing.
At Lumiton, new generations learn to work with photochemical film, to operate different low-pass film equipment and even to develop using traditional techniques. Through workshops, seminars and exhibitions, Lumiton is committed to preserving the knowledge associated with film techniques, as well as providing a space for the most experimental practices in the audiovisual field.
The Lumiton Studios were pioneers in the national film industry, starting the golden age of our cinema. This was decisive for the growth and development of Munro City and its inhabitants in the 1930s. Lumiton is a fundamental part of the neighborhood's memory and identity.
The House of the Stars remained standing and was declared a Municipal and National Historic Monument, thanks to the efforts of a group of neighbors and former employees of Lumiton Studios, so that the house could also become a museum.
Lumiton Museo del Cine Usina Audiovisual se desempeña bajo la gestión de la Secretaría de Cultura de la Municipalidad de Vicente López.
La sede del museo se encuentra ubicada en la Casa de las estrellas, por la cual pasaron las grandes figuras de la época dorada del cine argentino y donde nació la industria cinematográfica nacional.
La Usina realiza los ciclos Vecine VeCine para distintos espacios del Municipio. Lleva a cabo talleres de formación e iniciación al cine, y programas culturales para la comunidad. También produce los registros audiovisuales de los programas culturales de la Secretaría de Cultura. Todas las actividades que lleva a cabo son gratuitas.
El museo se dedica a preservar y difundir la historia de los Estudios Lumiton y del cine argentino, y cuenta con una muestra permanente sobre la historia de Lumiton, además de una sala de proyecciones donde se realizan ciclos, encuentros y talleres.
