JUAN CANOSA QUINTETO
A masterful quintet performing jazz standards, with the trombone and pedal steel as the melodic highlights, while the solid trio accompanies, exploring various genres but always influenced by jazz. The group includes Juan Canosa, Miguel Marengo, Carto Brandan, Juan Pablo de Mendonça and Leonel Cejas.
Juan Canosa ‘s Bio
Juan Canosa is a trombonist, composer, and arranger who began his studies at the Academia de Música Municipal in Azul, Buenos Aires Province. Since 2004, he has been based in Buenos Aires and has participated in over a hundred albums as a session musician across different genres. He actively engages in the Buenos Aires music scene with bands like Cuatro Varas, La Grande, among others. As a “sideman,” he’s part of groups led by Mariano Otero, Sergio Wagner, Ramiro Flores, Patricio Carpossi, Juan Cruz De Urquiza, among many others.
He’s an arranger and musical director of Sonora Marta la Reina, an orchestra dedicated to Caribbean genres. While the orchestra is currently not performing live, it continues to record for various artists. Juan plays trombone in the Buenos Aires City Symphonic Band and the San Martín Municipality Band.
