As part of the archival work undertaken since the creation of the Museum, Lumiton has spent a significant amount of time locating and recovering the original posters of films shot at Estudios Lumiton. This is a crucial task in the preservation of the cinematographic, filmic, and historical heritage held by the studios.
Currently, the collection of Lumiton film posters is nearly complete and accessible in digital format on our website under the filmography section.. Furthermore, some of these posters are displayed as part of our museum’s permanent exhibition, while a considerable number are currently undergoing restoration.
After a thorough assessment of the condition of the collection, a first stage involving the cleaning and flattening of the delicate material comprising the posters was initiated. This was followed by a second stage involving the restoration and repair of weakened areas, as well as chromatic reintegration, ensuring that they maintain the highest possible fidelity despite the passage of time.
This process is part of the set of actions undertaken by the archive with the aim of preserving the memory and history of Argentinian cinema for future generations.
